Furman hopes disappointment will make him stronger

Doncaster Rovers midfielder Dean Furman says he hopes the final day relegation will make him stronger as the club will look to bounce back at the first attempt.

Rovers suffered the agony of relegation on the final day as Birmingham came from 2-0 down with twelve minutes remaining to grab a point with an equalising goal in the third minute of injury time.

The South African midfielder was a regular in the side in the final month of the season following an injury to Richie Wellens and Furman, who also saw his national side South Africa fail to qualify for this summer`s World Cup finals this summer, feels the experience will make him stronger.

Speaking in the South Yorkshire Times , Furman said, "I`ve experienced the highs and lows of the game all in a year.

"It`s a bitter pill to swallow the way it all happened, but we can`t just look at one game as it comes down to our results over the course of the season.

"I hope it makes me stronger."

Furman joined Rovers in March 2012 on an initial loan deal from Oldham Athletic and he helped the side to win the League One title on the final day of the season at Brentford.

The 25-year-old completed a permanent deal last summer, linking up once again with his former Oldham boss Paul Dickov and he went on to make 35-appearances during the season.
