DRFC Northern Ireland boss praises defender again

Young Doncaster Rovers defender Luke McCullough won his second cap for Northern Ireland as they went down 2-0 to Chile and he again won plenty of praise from manager Michael O`Neill.

At his post-match press conference, O`Neill was once again full of praise for McCullough, "Both Conor McLaughlin and Luke McCullough were excellent.

"For two young lads coming into the side, playing against the level of player they were and in that atmosphere, I thought they were superb."

Having impressed on his debut in the 1-0 defeat to Uruguay earlier in the week, Northern Ireland were once again up against a team that are getting ready for the World Cup finals that start in Brazil this week.

McCullough played the 90 minutes as Northern Ireland were eventually broke down by the Chilean attack late in the game. Chile scored twice in the space of three minutes after eventually breaking the deadlock on 79 minutes.

The 20-year-old made 13 appearances for Rovers in his debut season at the Keepmoat last season after his summer arrival from Manchester United.

I wonder if these good reports could see someone come in for him in the summer.
