Griff To Head North

Just prior to leaving Belle Vue, Dave Penney handed the hottest prospect to come out of the Rovers youth team since Rufus Brevett and Mark Rankine a three year contract. Since Penney's departure Anthony Griffith has hardly got a looking in. Its no surprise then to hear that Penney is looking to bring Griffith to Darlington on loan.

Griffith made his Rovers debut away at Swindon in February. The combative midfielder joined Oxford on loan last season but for some strange reason never featured for the U's. Griffith was outstanding towards the end of last season and again caught the eye in the pre-season matches.

Darlington are also rumoured to be bringing in David Wheater on loan. Wheater who is currently at Middlesborough, enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Belle Vue last season under Dave Penney.
