It took 28 penalties to find a winner, but eventually Rovers came out on top. Rovers won the shoot-out 12-11.

Rovers had more chances in the first half, but Hartlepool scored after the Rovers 'keeper clearance hit a 'pools player and ended up in the back of the net.

Hartlepool were the better side in the second half, but Lodge managed to slide the ball past the advancing Hartlepool 'keeper to level.

Rovers will now face Derby County in the 3rd Round.

It was a very good game. Some of the penalties were excellent. The Rovers keeper was injuried halfway through the second half but carried on.
