Six Year Ban For Norbury

The FA have given Micky Norbury a SIX year touchline ban. Norbury, who scored a hat-trick against Scunthorpe United, is currently player/assistant manager for Goole.

Norbury said: 'It is unbelievable. I am gutted as we have started buzzing recently. The referees have worded the complaint worse than how it was. I pleaded guilty to the charges even though some of the words were wrong to get it out of the way.'

'I could have and should have written a letter saying I was sorry but I thought I would get it over and done with. In his report at Colwyn Bay the referee said I went up and threatened to knock him out but I actually said, some would say you want knocking out after that performance.'

'I have been sent-off more times in my career than anyone else and I have only ever appealed once as they usually end up giving you longer sentences.

'I once appealed for when I got a ban for head-butting a goalkeeper. I appealed and took the goalkeeper with me to the appeal because I didn't touch him and he told them that but the ban was increased from 90 to 112 days.'
