Forte To Get International Call-Up?

Sheffield United on loan star, Jonathan Forte could be called-up to play for Barbados.

Speaking to a Barbados newspaper, Paul Ifill explained: 'We are not far behind the likes of Trinidad and Tobago in terms of ability, and are in the process of building a new stadium just for football, because at the minute, the National Stadium is shared with athletics.

'With better facilities, we're more likely to attract the top players.

'The BFA are trying to move their fixtures in line with the rest of the international calendar so they can attract better players who can get released from their clubs'

Ifill went on to say that the likes of Jonathan Forte, Marlon Harewood, Emmerson Boyce and Fitz Hall are all eligible to represent Barbados.

Rovers already have one Barbados star on the books. Mark McCammon scored four times in the first round of the Digicel Caribbean Cup. Rovers did not release the big striker for the second round stage. Without big Mark, Barbados still qualified for the final round.

The Digicel Caribbean Cup finals will be played in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad from January 12 to 23.
