DRFC Defender Earns International Recall

DRFC Defender Earns International Recall

Doncaster Rovers defender Luke McCullough has been called into an 18-man Northern Ireland squad for a week-long training camp.

McCullough has returned to the Northern Ireland squad after recently recovering from a Cruciate Ligament injury and returned to the Doncaster squad.

McCullough suffered his cruciate ligament injury during pre-season last summer and he returned to the Doncaster first team towards the end of March and he made 7 appearances in the run-in.

The 23-year-old had been a regular in the Northern Ireland squad before his injury and he became the first Doncaster player in the clubs history to be included in a squad travelling to either the World or European Championship finals last summer in France. Len Graham, who represented Northern Ireland, was the closest the club had come before when he was named on the standby list for the 1958 World Cup finals in Sweden.

Manager Michael O`Neill is holding the week-long training camp in Manchester, starting on May 22nd, ahead of their international friendly with New Zealand on June 2nd and their World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan on June 10th.

Roy Carroll (Linfield), Michael McGovern (Norwich City), Conor Hazard (Celtic), Conor Mitchell (Burnley), Conor McLaughlin (Fleetwood Town), Oliver Norwood (Brighton), Matthew Lund (Rochdale), Stuart Dallas (Leeds United), Jamie Ward (Nottingham Forest), Kyle Lafferty (Norwich City), Tom Flanagan (Burton Albion), Ryan McLaughlin (Oldham Athletic), Daniel Lafferty (Sheffield United), Josh Magennis (Charlton Athletic), Luke McCullough (Doncaster Rovers), Callum Camps (Rochdale), Adam Thompson (Southend United), Shay McCartan (Accrington Stanley )
