Gilbert Returns To Owls

Peter Gilbert has returned to Sheffield Wednesday following his loan spell with Rovers. Gilbert has impressed fans during his stay at the Keepmoat and made five appearances for Rovers.

However, with Gareth Roberts now available and Sean McDaid back in training, O'Driscoll has decided not to extend the defenders time at Rovers.

Gilbert may go straight into the Wednesday squad for their next match after Brian Laws praised the left backs performances.

'Peter has got the games in and looks fitter. We've had him watched for two games as well. Hopefully he can help us to freshen things up', Laws told the Sheffield Star.

The only critisism I had of Gilbert was that he would just cross the ball into the area without looking up, more often than not it would just go to the oposition. Other than that he did a great job but with Gareth Roberts no longer banned and Sean McDaid back in training left back is a postion which we no longer need covered.

look forward to seeing the old back four back together again, we have shipped a few goals since they have not been playing together.

A clean sheet would be nice. We've gone from keeping clean sheets but struggling to score to being able to score but conceding goals too!
