Explosive Night For Donny

Rovers' former home suffered extensive damage after an explosion during the night. Police and firefighters were called to Belle Vue at 3.20am to find the Main Stand ripped to pieces. It is currently believed that the gas supply had been tampered with and was the cause of the explosion.

Two members of the public were at the scene at the time of the incident and were taken to hospital, with one taken to the burns unit in Nottingham. One man in his 20's has been arrested in connection with the explosion.

It is believed that the stand will be totally demolished as soon as possible as it is unsafe. The public had been able to enter the ground, unoccupied since the end of December, though holes in the fences and gates that had been broken open. Fans thought it was only a matter of time until vandals caused substantial damage.

it was only a matter of time before a few idiots would decide to set fire to the old ground or worse.
