Cup Agony For Doncaster Lads

The Doncaster Free Press is reporting that the Doncaster Boys Junior Sunday League are holding cup finals on the same day as Rovers are in Cardiff for the JPT final.

The Doncaster Free Press article also suggests that the Doncaster Junior League are unlikely to postpone or alter the junior club final dates, with parents and players complaining to the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA demanding the junior cup final dates are changed.

The Free Press did say that they were unable to get hold of anyone from the Doncaster Junior League to verify the story.

Its a shame that the Free Press were unable to get hold of Rob Smith at the league office, as this iss a non-story. Only the Under 11s and Under 12s cup final were due to be played on April 1st. At the request of clubs, the league published the cup semi-final and final dates back in August. Last week the league started the process of confirming if the original venue were still available for a week later (8th April). The venues for both the Under 11s and Under 12s were not available and are now at Doncaster Deaf School (Home Venue of Town Moor Tigers U11) and Brodsworth Way - Rossington (Home of Bessacarr FC U12). The changes to the final dates were finalised at the beginning of this week thus before the Free Press went to print. As for league fixtures, the scheduled matches are due to finish on the 18th March. After this date re-scheduled matches are to take place. All re-scheduled matches are to decided between the two clubs and the league.
