Ryan Gives Up On Play-Offs

Doncaster Rovers Club Chairman, John Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield: 'What we have to do now is to win the Cup on Sunday against Bristol Rovers hopefully, and enjoy parading it around. And then build and strengthen the squad for next season and give us every chance to get in the Championship next year.'

What happens if Rovers lost to Bristol on Sunday? Have your say in the forum.

Lets hope we have Heffernan, Price and Coppinger back and then I cannot see us losing it.

I feel we need a deeper squad. Word from behind the scenes is that SO'D had money to play with during the January transfer window and had two or three big signings lined up but bottled it at the last minute as he couldn't cope with the stress of changing a squad around that at that time was playing quite well. Now look, we haven't got the depth of squad that we needed to cope with injuries. He's spineless. He may be a good coach, but he's no manager.

Lets hope that we do not have any slogans for next season. Then the players may not feel the pressure.

Personally I don't feel "destination championship" was a problem for the players as the first thing SO'D did when he first came to Rovers was to rubbish the slogan and say we weren't going to be promoted this season which is why I was so suprised last month when he suddenly started to talk about promotion.
