'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Green On Rovers

Paul Green thoughts on the cup final between Doncaster Rovers and Bristol Rovers.

The midfielder is the only player left at the club, who played in the Conference Promotional Final at Stoke.

'It was a great day in the club's history because it meant that we got back into the Football League after five years in the Conference.

'I think we took about ten thousand fans on the day and there was a tremendous atmosphere.

'It was a great game to play in, especially at such a young age, and hopefully the experience will stand me in good stead if I am in the team in Sunday's Johnstone Paints Trophy final.

'Sunday's game will be an even bigger occasion and there will be around 60,000 there.

'There will probably be a bit more tension in the dressing room before the start, but once the game gets underway it will be just like any other game.

'You are focusing on what is going on around you on the pitch that you don't have time think about what's happening off it.

'But the Conference final passed by so quickly and I hope that I can take in the atmosphere more this time.

'I wasn't really fussed which Bristol team we played in the final after we had beaten Crewe in the Northern area final.

'It is a final and no matter who you are playing anything can happen on the day.

'Rovers might be a League Two side but to have beaten Bristol City over two legs in the Southern area final means that we have got to treat them with respect.'
