Former Rovers Man Gets An OBE
Former Doncaster Rovers club secretary and now chairman of the Football Association is awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Mr Thompson who started his football career as secretary of Doncaster Rovers before joining the Sheffield and Hallamshire CFA.
For the past seven years Mr Thompson was tje FA's chairman but will step down from this role in 2008. He is also the vice-president of both FIFA and UEFA.
