Penney spots a Clingan
It is understood that Rovers manager, Dave Penney could be set to make Wolves an offer for Sammy Clingan.
The midfielder has enjoyed another successful loan spell at Chesterfield, and was regarded by many as the man of the match in the Rovers recent game at home against Chesterfield.
Penney made a bid for the midfielder in the summer but Wolves rejected that offer. Last week, it looked as if Sammy was going to the City Ground but that moved collapsed as he could not agree personal terms. It is understood that the contract Nottingham Forest offered was heavily based on the appearances.
The Northern Ireland U21 international, played for Wolves reserves last night.
Rovers Manager Dave Penney says he is prepared to match any fee, he doesn’t believe his offer will fare any better than Gary Megson’s.
'We're keeping an eye on the situation but I'm not too hopeful, if Forest can't reach an agreement with him I'm doubtful we can.' said Penney in today's Doncaster Free Press.
Live long and prosper.
