DRFC- Doncaster lose at home

Rovers lost their first home game of the season against Charlton Athletic falling to an early goal by Andy Gray.

For the second game in a row Doncaster have dominated for long periods but have had no end product.
With only three goals so far this season Rovers have to find a way to break down the opposing defences.

Rovers could have taken the lead in the first minute when Gareth Taylor and Lewis Guy had good efforts which were eventually cleared for a corner.

Rovers were soon to pay for the early missed chance when a Charlton free kick was swung in and former Blade Andy Gray got his head to it and looped the ball over Sullivan in the Rovers goal.

The home side then took the game by the scruff of the neck and after a succession of Corners Wellens had a stinging volley tipped over the bar by Weaver in the Charlton goal.

Still having most of the play Rovers just couldn`t find the killer ball and most efforts were from long distance which Weaver was able to deal with comfortably.

Doncaster continued where they had left off in the first half and attacked the Charlton goal.

Charlton had a brief respite when Gray the Charlton goal scorer headed wide.

Around the hour mark Rovers really set siege to the Charlton goal and after a succession of corners and near misses they still couldn`t find the equalising goal.

This was to be Rovers last real chance and the game became more even over the last quarter with neither side having any real chances to score.

Gareth Taylor went off late on with what looked like a slight hamstring strain. Will Rovers decide to give Darren Byfield his full debut against his former club Bristol City at the weekend?

Another good performance from Rovers but once again no points at the end of the game.

DRFC website says Taylor will be out for a few weeks. Should be the chance for Byfield to play for more than 25 minutes
