Doncaster travelled to in form Burnley hoping to record their first away points since the opening day of the season.
Jason Price had Rovers first chance but his effort went wide.
Blake had Burnley`s first chance but his free kick was saved by Sullivan.
Shortly afterwards an altercation between Steve Thompson from Burnley and Matt Mills from Rovers saw them both go into the referee`s note book.
Stock then had a good shot tipped over by Jensen.
Just after the half hour mark Steve Thompson was shown his second yellow card for a tackle on Matt Mills, Premiership referee Steve Bennett had no hesitation in producing the red card and reducing Burnley to ten men.
After this Rovers had the bulk of possession leading up to half time and chances fell to Guy, Chambers and Price but as usual Rovers lacked any composure or skill in finding the back of the net.
The second half continued where the first left off with Rovers looking the more likely side to score.
Burnley were still creating chances of their own and McCann`s header was saved by Sullivan.
Rovers were really applying the pressure with the extra man and chance after chance was falling to Rovers with either woeful finishing or good saves being produced by the Burnley keeper.
Chances continued to be created and Guy, Price and Stock all had chances to put Rovers in front.
Rovers looked like having another bad day in front of goal and this was compounded when Heffernan really should have scored soon after coming on but blazed wide from twelve yards.
Hayter had Rovers last chance deep into added time but his lob was easily saved by Jensen.
Rovers finally got a point on their travels after seven successive defeats but will come away once again wondering how they haven`t taken all three points.
Sean O`Driscoll must get a striker on loan very soon because we cannot go on creating chance after chance in every game without converting the chances.
We now have two bottom of the table clashes against Forest and Watford in the next week and we must take at least four points from these two games if we are to have any chance of staying up this season.
