DRFC - Rovers still goal shy!

Doncaster once again drew a blank in their crucial bottom of the table clash against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

The only good thing is they do seem to have sorted out their defensive problems and kept their third clean sheet in a row.

Rovers will feel aggrieved not to take all three points when a James Coppinger effort looked like it had crossed the line after being fumbled by the Forest keeper, neither the referee nor linesman were in a good enough position to give the goal.

Coppinger almost gave Rovers a dream start when his effort came back off the bar in the first few minutes.

Rovers had other good chances in the first half with Taylor, Mills and Woods all missing the target.

At the other end Nathan Tyson was looking Forest`s main danger and he had a few efforts to score for the visitors.

Joe Garner probably missed their best chance but his shot was straight at Sullivan in the Rovers goal.

Tyson continued to look the main danger for the visitors in the second half and the large travelling fans thought he`d scored when his long range effort hit the stanchion behind the goal and ruffled the netting.

Most Rovers efforts were from long range without troubling the keeper most of the time. They kept searching for the opening goal and Coppinger`s controversial effort that wasn`t given got the fans behind the players.

Garner almost gave Forest the lead but his effort just cleared the bar.

Rovers substitute Stuart Elliott had an amazing effort late in the game but his 40 yard effort beat the keeper but just went wide of the post.

The full time whistle went to the frustration once again of the home fans who have seen their team play well but lack any kind of composure in front of goal.

The transfer window closes on Thursday which would allow the club to bring in any loan players before the January transfer window reopens.
With only eight goals in twenty games it`s obvious that we need to bring in a striker immediately otherwise we will continue to play well without scoring.
