DRFC - Rovers win again

Charlton Athletic
1 - 2

Referee:

Doncaster travelled to bottom side Charlton Athletic hoping to continue with the form that has seen them rise to 15th in the Championship.

Rovers made one change from the side that beat Derby County on Friday night, Mark Wilson will feel unfortunate to lose his place in the starting line up after his impressive performance against Derby, returning in is place was Richie Wellens who was suspended.

In a poor first half played in atrocious conditions Charlton`s Tom Soares came closest to scoring but his header hit the bar when he should have done better.

Rovers made the perfect start to the second half, only five minutes were on the clock when James Coppinger`s beautiful shot beat Elliott in the Charlton goal.

Charlton equalised with just less than twenty minutes left on the clock when Nicky Bailey smashed the ball home after Rovers had only half cleared a corner.

Rovers soon went back in front, Richie Wellens was upended in the area and Brian Stock coolly slotted the ball home from 12 yards.

Rovers should have wrapped the game up soon afterwards when Spicer missed a great chance inside the penalty box.

Darren Ambrose had a chance deep into injury time for the hosts but failed to connect properly when in a great position.

Another fantastic three points for Rovers and safety edges ever nearer.

Another fantastic three points, its a shame the change in goalscoring form didn't start a month earlier or we could be close to the play offs!!

A much needed win - but against the bottom side only to be expected.

Looking at your games you've taken 15 points from your last 18 - that's as good as any team in all the leagues.
