DRFC - Rovers back to winning ways

Doncaster Rovers
2 - 0
Qpr

Keepmoat

10/03/09 7.45pm

Attendance: 10,223

Referee:

Doncaster entertained Qpr hoping to put Saturday`s dismal performance at Cardiff behind them.

O`Driscoll made three changes from that game, out went John Spicer, Jason Price and Brian Stock and in came Adam Lockwood, Paul Heffernan and Mark Wilson.

Rovers went in 2-0 up at half time thanks to an own goal from Stewart after a mix up between him and the keeper and a header from Paul Heffernan.

Chances for Heffernan and Coppinger came after the break to extend the lead but it finished 2-0.

Rovers are now on 49 points and surely another season in the Championship is all but guaranteed.

Good win - set your sites up the league not down. Don't think you'll make the play-offs though.

Its a shame it took till Christmas to start scoring otherwise Rovers would definitely be in the play offs by now.

If they consolidate themselves in the Championship for a few more seasons, they will be real promotion contenders. Just hope the top players aren't noticed by Premier League clubs and made offers they can't refuse.
