Rovers lose at the death

Doncaster travelled to Champions Wolves for the final game of the season and welcome back Gordon Greer who earns a place on the bench after his loan spell at Swindon Town

Rovers best chance of the first half fell to James Hayter who seemed to hesitate on the ball expecting an offside decision to be given, this allowed enough time for Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey to get off his line and block Hayter`s effort.

Kevin Foley had the home side`s best chance, his effort hitting the outside of the post.

A decent first half ended with Wolves just on top but without either side seriously troubling either keeper.

The only goal of the game came deep into Second half stoppage time, defender Richard Stearman got up to head home and finish off a fantastic season for Wolves.

Rovers can also feel proud of their first season in the Championship for fifty years, they was rock bottom at Christmas and looking almost certain to be returning to League One.

A fantastic run of results which included first ever victories at Sheffield United, Ipswich and Blackpool and a first ever home win over Sheffield Wednesday saw them finish a very creditable 14th in the table.
