Rovers and Ipswich in six goal thriller

Doncaster Rovers and Ipswich Town shared a six goal thriller with an enthralling second half at the Keepmoat.

The big surprise in the Rovers side was captain Brian Stock missing out with an ankle injury, he was replaced by Sam Hird in the only change to the side that lost in midweek.

Youngster Waide Fairhurst continued with his impressive start for Rovers when he gave them the lead in the thirteenth minute.

Fairhurst challenged for a header with Bruce and Wright, the Ipswich keeper Wright spilled the ball and Fairhurst was there to hook the ball into the net.

John Oster almost doubled the lead but Wright saved his good strike.

Ipswich came close to equalising near the end of the first half but Jon Walters header went just wide of the post.

The game took off in the second half with less than twenty five minutes to go.

Jack Colback got Ipswich level when he shot into the corner of the net through a number of players.

Martin Woods gave Rovers the lead again within ten minutes when his left foot shot from around 25 yards founds it`s way through a number of players and into the net.

Within five minutes Ipswich had turned the game around, first substitute Tamas Priskin headed them level, then Lee Martin gave them the lead after they had initially hit the bar.

It was now Rovers turn to come from behind and substitute Quinton Fortune brought them level with a superb strike from 25 yards.

In an enthralling end to end finish to the game both sides looked for a winner, Priskin was denied from point blank range by Sullivan for Ipswich.

At the other end both Sharp and Heffernan had chances but were denied by Wright.

Another draw for Rovers making it five in eight games leaves them in fifteenth place in the table
