Rare home defeat for Rovers

Doncaster Rovers
1 - 4
Middlesbrough

Keepmoat

26/01/10 7.45pm

Attendance: 10,794

Referee:

Doncaster Rovers recent good home form came to a shuddering halt against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

Two cracking goals from Adam Johnson were the pick of the visitor`s goals as the enjoyed their first visit to the Keepmoat with a 4-1 win.

Rovers made four changes from the side that played Derby at the weekend with John Spicer, Paul Heffernan and Lewis Guy getting rare starts.

The only bright notes for Rovers were the performance of Jordan Mutch who is on loan from Birmingham, he made his debut as a substitute for the last half hour. He capped this with a fantastic 30-yard goal which gave Rovers a glimmer of hope at 3-1.

Also the return of Sean McDaid who came on as a late substitute, after over twenty months on the sidelines through injury.
