Rovers get no capital gain
Doncaster Rovers recent run of good form came to an end at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, a side who were recording their first win since Boxing Day.
Rovers stuck with the same side that had won at Sheffield Wednesday in the week and Gareth Roberts returned from injury and took his place on the bench.
The home side took the lead just past the halfway in the first half when Simpson`s headed could only be parried by Sullivan and Antonio German was first to react and stab the ball home.
Brian Stock came closest to scoring for the Rovers during the first half on two or three occasions but failed to make the keeper work.
Rovers were back on level terms early in the second half when Billy Sharp played a low ball into the six yard box and James Hayter was the quickest to react and steer the ball into the back of the net.
Rangers scored the winner just inside the final fifteen minutes when the Rovers central defence went wandering and Simpson was played in, his low drive giving Sullivan no chance.
Stock had Rovers only real chance to bring the scores level in the final ten minutes but his shot was off target.
A disappointed result and performance after two fantastic results against Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday in the previous seven days.
Rovers have a quick chance to put things right when they entertain Leicester City on Tuesday night; the side`s second meeting in the space of two weeks.
