Rovers leave it late

Doncaster Rovers came from behind to clinch another three points to take them past the fifty-point mark for the season and continue their late push for a play off place.

Rovers made four changes from the side that defeated Derby County on Saturday.

Sam Hird, Dean Shiels, Shelton Martis and Martin Woods replaced Elliott Ward, James Hayter, James O`Connor and Mark Wilson.

In a tight first half Mackail-Smith missed the best chance for the home side but didn`t get enough on his header to trouble the goal and Torres produced a fine save from Sullivan.

Sharp went closest for Rovers but Lewis saved his shot and Martin Woods saw a shot just clear the bar.

Charlie Lee gave the home side the lead within ten minutes of the second half after the home side had started the second half strongly.

Billy Sharp had a great chance to equalise within minutes but sliced his shot when in a great position.

Rovers equalised halfway through the half when Gareth Roberts left foot shot from a tight angle found its way into the Peterborough goal.

Doncaster pinched all three points in the final seconds of the game when Jon Oster got on the end of a Billy Sharp to score his first goal for the club.

Another great win for Rovers, now over 50 points and still a slim chance of the play offs. I have to eat my words, I thought Rovers were bankers for relegation this season. O'Driscoll has done an unbelieveable job working on a shoestring and selling two of his best players last summer.

Great time for Oster to score his first goal for the club.

Nine games left - some tough games coming up, Newcastle, West Brom, Swansea, Sheff Utd. Fingers crossed for the play-offs. I can feel a song coming on, where's John Parr?
