Rovers claim derby win

Doncaster Rovers kept up their faint hopes of a play off place with a hard-earned victory at Barnsley on Saturday.

Rovers won 1-0 thanks to a James Coppinger goal on 35 minutes after some good work between him and Emmanuel-Thomas.

Barnsley almost equalised close to half time when De Silva saw his header hit the top of the bar.

Top scorer, Billy Sharp had a great chance to put Rovers two up but his weak header from two yards went wide of the post.

Rovers were almost made to pay for the miss when Colace had a good chance but Sullivan in the Rovers goal excellently saved his effort.

A good win for Rovers that moves them back up to eighth place in the table.

They are now six points behind sixth placed Leicester, who also have a game in hand.

A good win for Rovers, can't see them making the play offs though.

Makes up for the last three occasions, its so annoying just how close they are to the play offs and look like missing out. Some of the silly points they have thrown away this season!
