Rovers edged out in five goal thriller

West Brom won a five-goal thriller at the Keepmoat to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Graham Dorrans opened the scoring just past the half hour against the run of play when he gave Sullivan no chance with his free kick from just outside the area.

The Baggies doubled the lead deep into first half injury time when James Chambers weak headed back pass was pounce don by Chris Brunt, and at the second attempt, he beat Sullivan.

Rovers got a lifeline in the first three minutes of the second half when Emmanuel-Thomas worked himself some space inside the area to beat Carson in the West Brom goal.

Albion went 3-1 up with seventeen minutes remaining when Chris Brunt`s cross found Roman Bednar and he gave Sullivan no chance.

James Hayter got Rovers back into the game with seven minutes remaining when he headed in from an Emmanuel-Thomas cross.

Despite the referee added four minutes of added time, Rovers couldn`t breach the West Brom defence once more to earn a point.

The defeat is Rovers third in a row and they are now in twelfth position in the table.

The stats show that Rovers were very unlucky to lose. Good luck to West Brom next season in the Premiership.
