DRFC Rovers battle to draw at Ipswich

Doncaster Rovers and Ipswich Town fought out a 1-1 draw at Portman Road with neither side really having anything to play for.

In what looked a real end of season game it came to life inside the final twenty minutes.

Ipswich took the lead when Connor Wickham pounced on some poor Rovers defending, firstly James O`Connor made a hash of his clearance and then Shelton Martis allowed Wickham to nip in and beat him to the ball and shoot past Neil Sullivan.

Rovers equalised just inside the final ten minutes when Dean Shiels got nudged off the ball in the area and the referee awarded a Rovers penalty.

Shiels dusted himself off to beat Murphy in the Ipswich goal and earn Rovers a point.

The result sees both sides remain in twelfth (Doncaster) and thirteenth (Ipswich) place respectively.
