Sharp at the double for Rovers
Doncaster Rovers eased their relegation worries with a comprehensive victory at Derby County.
Billy Sharp scored twice and Joseph Mills one as Rovers ran out easy 3-1 winners.
Rovers made one change from the side that drew with Watford at the weekend.
On loan striker Jason Euell, who scored Rovers equaliser at the weekend was missing and was replaced by Dean Shiels.
Also returning on the bench was Ryan Burge who had missed the last few games through injury.
Derby had the first chance of the evening when Jamie Ward got his head to a cross and it went just wide of the post.
Ward went close again when his shot from distance just cleared the crossbar.
Theo Robinson then had a great chance when he got in behind the Rovers defence but he scuffed his shot wide of the post.
Defender George Friend had Rovers first effort on goal halfway through the half but he dragged his shot wide after a good run into the opposition half.
Gary Woods made the first save of the evening just past the half hour when he got down well to deny Ben Davies.
Steve Davies then went close for the hosts when his shot went just wide.
Derby then won a succession of corners with Theo Robinson wasting the best chance when he headed over the bar.
Rovers took the lead with five minutes of the half remaining when Paul Keegan released Billy Sharp and his shot beat Fielding in the Derby goal to score his fourteenth of the season.
Woods then had to be alert to tip a Ben Davies free kick over the bar.
From the corner, Billy Sharp who had only just given Rovers the lead was the hero at the back, when he cleared a Derby effort off the line.
Derby had enjoyed the majority of the play and chances, but it was Rovers, who went in at half time in the lead, thanks to the strike from Sharp.
Rovers doubled their lead in the opening minutes of the second half when John Oster crossed the ball for Sharp to head in, to score his second of the evening.
The second goal galvanised Rovers and they earned a corner after good work from Moussa.
From the resulting corner, Brian Stock blazed over the crossbar.
Gary Woods restored Rovers two-goal lead when he got down well to deny Ben Davies who had got in at the far post
Sharp almost completed his hat trick when he shot just wide after great work from Franck Moussa.
Rovers were in complete control and Sharp forced Fielding into a great save, once again after good work from Moussa.
Joseph Mills made it 3-0 to Rovers with just under twenty minutes remaining with a fierce drive that went under Fielding in the Derby goal.
Sean O`Driscoll quickly made his first substitutions of the evening with Billy Sharp and Brian Stock who are both struggling with injury being replaced by Mark Wilson and Matt Kilgallon.
Oster had Rovers next opportunity but his free kick was easy for Fielding.
Rovers were then delighted to welcome back Simon Gillett who replaced Franck Moussa for his first appearance since November.
There was only one side looking like scoring and it was Rovers who went close again, when Kilgallon saw his shot pushed around the post for a corner.
From the resulting corner, John Oster sent a shot just wide of the post.
Derby scored a late consolation goal when Steve Davies got a slight touch on an in swinging cross.
It was to be the last meaningful action of the game as the result gave Rovers a bit of breathing space from the teams below them
