Queens Park Rangers won their first ever game at Doncaster as they continue their push for automatic promotion.
Sean O`Driscoll made one change from the side that drew with Nottingham Forest last weekend with the fit again John Oster replacing Mark Wilson in midfield.
The visitors were missing their key player, Adel Taarabt who was forced to pull out with a virus.
Rangers had a great chance early on when Heidar Helguson saw his effort come back off the bar.
Simon Gillett had Rovers first effort but Paddy Kenny saved his shot.
Franck Moussa then hit the post for Rovers as the home side looked for the opening goal.
Faurlin had an effort for the visitors but it went well over the bar.
Hogan Ephraim then had an effort for Rangers but once again, they failed to trouble the Rovers keeper as the effort went wide of the post.
Rovers fans thought they had taken the lead when Brian Stock`s effort went the wrong side of the post and hit the side netting.
Moussa had Rovers next effort, his shot being tipped over the bar by Kenny.
The referee ended the first half soon afterwards with Rovers more than matching the league leaders.
Rangers took the lead early in the second half when Hogan Ephraim cut in before firing past Woods.
Helguson then missed a great chance to double the lead when he headed wide following a great cross into the middle.
Rovers were searching in vain for an equaliser with Moussa and Coppinger carrying the main threat for the home side.
Sean O`Driscoll made his first change of the afternoon on 67 minutes when Ryan Mason replaced John Oster and it almost paid dividends straight away when Mason headed wide of the post.
Rangers substitute Buzsaky fired wide for the visitors as they were comfortably seeing out the remaining minutes.
Jason Euell had Rovers last chance but he headed wide of the post.
The final whistle followed shortly to condemn Rovers to their first defeat in three games.
