Super Sharp fires Rovers to win

Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp scored twice in two minutes to help Rovers come from a goal behind to record another important win.

The win moves Rovers to within two points of safety as the side start to gel under boss Dean Saunders.

It looked like being another bad day at the office for Rovers when David Nugent lobbed Gary Woods in the Rovers goal to give Leicester the lead in the 38th minute.

Billy Sharp turned the game in Rovers favour just past the hour mark.

First, his downward header somehow found its way through the legs of Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel and then a superb volley from a tight angle fired Rovers into the lead.

Sharp`s two goals make it five in his last four games and he is now just one short of making it double figures for the third season in a row for Rovers.

Former Rovers midfielder Richie Wellens had a couple of good chances to equalise for the visitors but Rovers were not to be denied a crucial three points.

The win makes it back-to-back home wins for the first time this year.

Rovers are now just two points from safety and with three games over the festive period, they will be hoping to climb out of the relegation places.

I am more worried about losing Sharp in January than who comes in.

I think with his current form it will be very hard to hold onto him. I can see a Premier League side taking a gamble on him at around £3 million
