Rovers bow out of cup

Doncaster Rovers have been dumped out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 at home to League One side Notts County.

Jeff Hughes scored a goal in each half to send Rovers out of the competition at the third round stage for the second season in a row.

Hughes gave County the lead in the 37th minute when he got on the end of a free kick by Alan Sheehan to score.

Hughes doubled the lead with twenty minutes remaining when he beat David Button from the penalty spot after Kyle Bennett had fouled Alan Sheehan in the penalty area.

The defeat means Rovers can concentrate solely on their survival fight in the championship.

Never done anything in this competition. Can at least concentrate on the league now. Good to see Woods, Oster, Diouf and Martis all back on the bench.
