Crucial win for Rovers

Doncaster Rovers battled to a crucial three points at Nottingham Forest as new signing Frederic Piquionne marked it with a superb strike.

Piquionne signed on loan for a month from West Ham earlier in the day and he broke the deadlock with a thunderous strike from fully 35 yards.

The lead was doubled in the early moments of the second half when Kyle Bennett fired home from close range.

Forest got a lifeline just past the hour through Dexter Blackstock but Rovers held out for a crucial three points and they are now within three points of Forest who are just outside the relegation places.

It was a huge win for Rovers with both Millwall and Bristol City also winning.
