Rovers battle for a point

Doncaster Rovers battled to a point in a goalless draw at Sheffield United.

Rovers made a bright start and both Martin Woods and Chris Brown could have opened the scoring inside sixty seconds.

Sheffield United started to take control of the game and Gary Woods twice did well to deny Tony McMahon and Nick Blackman.

After weathering the pressure, David Syers could have put Rovers ahead just before half time when he had a couple of chances.

Sheffield United continued to take the game to Rovers in the second half but rarely threatened the target as Rovers saw out the game and headed back across South Yorkshire with a point.
