Doncaster Rovers recent good run in League One was brought to an halt with a 3-1 home defeat to Preston North End.

Jack King gave the visitors the lead with a powerful header just past the half hour.

David Cotterill got Rovers back into the game on the stroke of half time when Joel Byrom deflected his free kick into his own net.

Preston went ahead for a second time when Scott Laird headed home and Stuart Beavon wrapped the game up for the visitors when his long-range shot beat Gary Woods.



Doncaster Rovers:
G Woods, Quinn, Spurr, Jones, McCombe, Bennett, Cotterill, Syers, M Woods, Brown, Paynter.

Subs not used:
Sullivan, Keegan, Husband, Martis, Blake, Middleton.

Preston:
Stuckmann, King, Laird, Byrom, Huntington (Cansdell-Sherriff, 46), Wright, Amoo (Monakana, 58), Mousinho, Beavon, Beardsley, Buchanan (Procter, 75).
