Rovers continue good run

Doncaster Rovers continued their good run of form with a 2-0 win at Notts County.

Two goals in two minutes just past the hour for Rovers ensured another three points and their third win in a row.

After a quiet first half, the game sprung to life just before the hour when Kyle Bennett missed a good chance for Rovers.

The miss didn`t prove costly when Paul Keegan headed Rovers ahead minutes later.

Within two minutes, the game was safe when second half substitute Chris Brown fired in from inside the area in his 50th appearance for the club.

The home sides plight was made more difficult with just over fifteen minutes remaining when they were forced to finish the game with ten men when Jordan Stewart was forced off through injury with the home side having already used their three substitutes.

The win moves Rovers up to fifth place in League One and they are now just four points behind the leaders Tranmere Rovers with a game in hand.

The win ends an impressive month that has seen Rovers earn 13 points from a possible 18 and must surely see boss Dean Saunders on the shortlist for manager of the month for October in League One.
