Rovers hit the buffers against Railwaymen

Doncaster Rovers seven match unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt with a 2-0 home defeat to Crewe Alexandra.

Lauri Dalla Valle scored on his debut for Crewe after joining from Fulham on loan at the start of the week after only five minutes and a goal with just under twenty minutes remaining by Mathias Pogba secured the points for the visitors.

Iain Hume and Paul Keegan both missed chances for Rovers on a disappointing evening for Rovers who also lost talisman defender Rob Jones in the first half with a head injury.

Despite the defeat, Rovers remain in the play-off places in sixth place.
