Rovers continue great away form

Doncaster Rovers got back to winning ways and continued their great away form with a 1-0 win at Portsmouth.

Rovers came into the game on the back of two home defeats in the previous week.

Iain Hume scored the only goal of the game in the 25th minute when he was on hand to slide home after Martin Woods had intercepted a clearance by former Rover Mustapha Dumbuya.

Woods had come close to giving Rovers an early lead when his shot was pushed over the bar by Mikkel Andersen and the keeper once again kept the score down when he saved a Rob Jones header in the second half.

Portsmouth came close to equalising with fifteen minutes remaining but defender Lubomir Michalik saw his header come back off the bar.

Rovers are now unbeaten in their last seven away games and have won three on the spin.

The win for Rovers moves them back up to eighth in the division with a trip to Carlisle United on Tuesday night next up.
