Doncaster Rovers 4 - Scunthorpe United 0

Keepmoat

24/11/12 3pm

Attendance: 8,037

Four Star Rovers

Doncaster Rovers continued their good form with a comprehensive home win against Scunthorpe United.

Rovers won 4-0 against Scunthorpe to move above local neighbours Sheffield United in the table.

A first half own goal from Christian Ribeiro gave Rovers a slender first half lead before a seventh goal of the season by David Cotterill early in the second half calmed any Rovers nerves.

Two goals in the space of two minutes just past the hour ensured Rovers would record their biggest win of the season. Rob Jones headed home his fourth goal of the season and Billy Paynter fired home for his fifth goal from the edge of the area.

A third league win in a row moves Rovers into third place in League One and a win over Oldham in their game in hand at the Keepmoat on Tuesday night will move them level on points with Tranmere Rovers at the top.
