The hard work and dedication of the staff and fans at Doncaster Rovers paid off as the side recorded another three points against Leyton Orient.
With next weekend`s game at MK Dons already off, Rovers were desperate for the game to go ahead and with freezing temperatures and snow hitting the country this week and many games in League One and Two being called off because of the weather, Rovers pulled out all the stops to ensure the game at the Keepmoat went ahead.
Groundsman Andy Thompson and his staff worked throughout the night and an army of volunteers turned up this morning to clear snow from the pitch and surrounding areas to ensure it passed an inspection at 10am this morning.
The hard work was rewarded as a goal in each half ensured Rovers keep up the pace at the top of League One.
It was Brian Flynn`s first game in charge at the Keepmoat and his first since getting the job full-time having won at Stevenage last weekend whilst he was caretaker boss.
Flynn is being assisted by club Captain Rob Jones, and once again he led by example. The centre back set Rovers on the way with the opener in the first half, his second goal in two games, when he headed home a David Cotterill corner.
Rovers clinched the game early in the second half when Chris Brown got in behind the Orient defence and he put the ball through the legs of Orient keeper Jamie Jones.
It was a clinical Rovers performance and could quite easily have been more, as Gary Woods was almost redundant in the Rovers goal.
The afternoon was summed up when groundsman Andy Thompson was named the sponsors man of the match.
After what has been a difficult few seasons for everyone at the Keepmoat, the club and its fans are once again pulling together and the future once again looks bright.
