Rovers rue disallowed goal

Doncaster Rovers went down to a 3-0 defeat at home to Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

In a scrappy game played in windy conditions, clear-cut chances were few and far between.

Leeds led at half time thanks to a Matt Smith close range header with Rovers best chance falling to Richie Wellens who saw his effort tipped around the post by Paddy Kenny.

Rovers controlled the second half for long periods and they were harshly denied what would have been a deserved equaliser when Theo Robinson was ruled offside. Robinson slid the ball home only for a very late flag from the assistant to deny Rovers the equaliser.

The decision proved crucial with Leeds doubling their lead soon afterwards when Ross McCormack found a way through the Rovers defence before scoring from a tight angle.

Leeds added a third in the closing minutes when Rodolph Austin fired home.

Once again, poor first half followed by improved second half before tiring at the end. Certainly wasn't a 3-0 scoreline
