No festive cheer for Rovers

Doncaster Rovers poor run continued as they suffered a fourth straight defeat, this time at home to Ipswich Town.

Ipswich beat Rovers 3-0, the fourth game in a row that they have conceded three goals.

Set pieces again proved the downfall for Rovers as first, David McGoldrick and then Luke Chambers headed home from corners in the first half hour.

Mark Duffy came close to giving Rovers a lifeline just before the break when his effort hit the bar but the game was put beyond doubt when McGoldrick netted his second of the afternoon from close range.

Rovers must now quickly regroup as they prepare for their home game with fellow strugglers Millwall on Sunday.
