Rovers suffer cruel defeat

Doncaster Rovers suffered a cruel defeat at Queens Park Rangers after playing well in West London against the championships big spenders.

Rovers went down to a 2-1 defeat with Rangers scoring the winner in the final minutes of the game.

Theo Robinson gave Rovers the lead just before the break when Federico Macheda and Theo Robinson linked up well before Robinson found the bottom corner, shooting across Rangers goalkeeper Robert Green.

Rangers got back into the game ten minutes into the second half when David Cotterill made a mess of his attempted clearance and Matt Phillips was on hand to score from close range.

The game looked like finishing all square until Charlie Austin rose highest to head home for Rangers with the game in injury time.

It was a cruel blow for Rovers who matched Rangers for long periods of the game.

The defeat was made more difficult to take with them dropping into the bottom three after Sheffield Wednesday beat Blackpool.
