Doncaster Clinch The Three Points At Blackburn
Doncaster Rovers enjoyed their first League One win of the season with a 3-1 win at Blackburn Rovers.
Doncaster made the most of some haphazard defending by Blackburn to score three times.
John Marquis netted his first goal of the season to give Doncaster the lead, there were further goals from James Coppinger and Alfie May.
Dominic Samuel scored a late consolation goal for the home side but they were not going to deny Doncaster their first win ever at Blackburn at the eleventh attempt.
After a fairly even first half, Doncaster took the lead in the opening minute of the second half. Former Doncaster defender Elliott Ward made a hash of his attempted clearance and Marquis nipped in to take the ball on before eventually firing home.
Doncaster doubled their lead just past the hour when Coppinger fired home from the penalty spot after Charlie Mulgrew had fouled him.
Blackburn gifted Doncaster a third goal in the final ten minutes when goalkeeper David Raya came racing out of his goal but his weak header fell to May who fired into an empty net.
The hosts pulled a goal back with three minutes remaining when Samuel rose to head home but Doncaster fought off any possible fightback from Blackburn to head back to Yorkshire with all three points.
