Whiteman Earns Doncaster A Point At The Death
Doncaster Rovers maintained their unbeaten festive programme with an injury time equaliser at Peterborough United.
Ben Whiteman scored in the third minute of injury time in the 1-1 draw as Doncaster picked up ten points out of a possible twelve over the festive period.
Doncaster looked to be heading for a defeat after Danny Lloyd had fired Peterborough into a first half lead. Lloyd was teed up by Ryan Tafazolli following a Marcus Maddison free-kick.
Lloyd almost doubled the lead for the hosts but Ian Lawlor in the Doncaster goal denied him and Chris Forrester saw his long-range effort come back off a post.
Doncaster threw men forward in the closing stages. John Marquis saw an effort saved by Jonathan Bond and Alfie May should have done better with a headed chance.
Whiteman ensured Doncaster came away with something as he netted for the second game in a row when he fired home after May had seen his shot blocked.
